Orosomucoid or acid alpha1-glycoprotein (AGP) is an early acute phase protein that is primarily produced in the liver cells . It modifies the adhesion of the platelets and suppresses the immune response . It also promotes the growth of fibroblasts . The normal value in human blood serum is 0.55–1.4 g / l. Together with haptoglobin , orosomucoid is a marker for hemolysis . Orosomucoid is also used to control therapy in Crohn's disease and various tumors.
