Orrville is a city in County Wayne in the American state of Ohio . Orrville has about 8500 inhabitants (as of 2000). The city was founded in 1864 by Smith Orr, who saw the economic opportunities at the intersection of the newly built railroads from Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad and Columbus, Mt. Vernon and Cleveland Railroad .

The economy in Orrville is mainly characterized by the food processing industry and the metal industry. The largest local company is the food company JM Smucker , founded in 1897 , which employs over 1000 people on site. The company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, is particularly known for its jams. The second largest local company with more than 300 employees is Smith Dairy , a dairy company founded in 1909 .

The 1970 under the name Contours Ltd. founded company Bekaert-Orrville Ltd. produces semi-finished steel products, flat and round wire, and employs almost 200 people in Orrville.
