The Osborne , regularly designated with the prefix HMY (Her Majesty Yacht), was a paddle steamer owned by the British government and operated by the Royal Navy . Designed by Edward James Reed, she was built in at the Royal Shipyard in Pembroke Dock (Pembroke Royal Dockyard) in Wales. It was launched on December 19, 1870. It replaced the yacht of the same name .

The Osborne had a displacement of 1,850 tons with a length of 76 m (250 feet) and a width of 11 m (36 feet). Like the Victoria and Albert, which was used at the same time, the yacht was a state yacht of the British monarch and was mainly used for trips to distant countries, later for the crossing to "Osborne House" on the Isle of Wight in the English Channel .

In 1908 it was retired.
