Oscar Klement

Oscar Anton Carl Klement (born April 19, 1897 in Komotau in Northern Bohemia , † February 16, 1980 in Lindenberg in Bavaria ) was a German lichenologist . His botanical-mycological author's abbreviation is “ Klem. "

Life

Professionally, he had been with Mannesmann-Röhrenwerke since 1921, with one interruption from 1945 to 1949, most recently from 1958 as managing director in Hanover. Klement wrote and co- authored articles on the subject of lichen . In 1959 he received an honorary doctorate in natural science from the University of Bonn for his services in the field of lichenology .
