Oscar Levertin
Oscar Ivar Levertin (born July 17, 1862 in Socken Gryt, municipality Valdemarsvik near Norrköping , † September 22, 1906 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish writer .
Life
Levertin studied in Uppsala from 1882 to 1887 . There he also became a lecturer in literary history in 1889 . Ten years later he was appointed professor of the same subject.
With Verner af Heidenstam he turned against naturalism . As a literary critic for the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet , Levertin mainly influenced Sweden's neo-romanticists . Levertin's own poetry is often very symbolistically exaggerated.
