Osiedle Na Skarpie is a settlement in the XVIII Nowa Huta district in eastern Kraków . The settlement was founded in 1952 as one of the first after the incorporation of Nowa Huta .

geography

In the north, Osiedle Na Skarpie borders on Osiedle Ogrodowe and Osiedle Wandy , in the east on Osiedle Młodości , in the west on Osiedle Centrum E and in the south on the Łąki Nowohuckie green area . The name of the settlement comes from the embankment on which it was built ( Polish Skarpa , German  the embankment ). Osiedle na Skarpie is located between the Ronald Reagan central square ( Plac Centralny im. Ronalda Reagana ) and the Młodości settlement ( Osiedle Młodości ), on Johannes-Paul-II.-Allee.

Tram lines: Osiedle na Skarpie was connected to the Kraków tram network on Sunday December 21, 1958 after 8 months of work. The first line ( line 16 ) ran between Ronald Reagan Central Square and Igołomska Street ( now John Paul II Avenue ). There are 2 tram lines:

  • Line 10 (Łagiewniki - Pleszów)
  • Line 16 (Mistrzejowice - Kopiec Wandy)

Bus routes: On May 19, 1951, the first line connecting Nowa Huta with Kraków was established, namely line 10-A, which ran between Barbakan and Kombinat. From 1952 to 1961, Osiedle Na Skarpie was the starting stop for line 10-A (since 1957, line 110) that ran between Osiedle na Skarpie and Wadów. There are 5 bus routes:

  • Line 123 (Mistrzejowice - Mały Płaszów)
  • Line 153 (Lesisko - Osiedle Piastów)
  • Line 163 (Kombinat - Rżąka)
  • Line 174 (Osiedle Kurdwanów - Kombinat)
  • Line 193 (Na Załęczu - Prądnik Czerwony)

Night lines: from 1969 to 1971 tram 20 ran between Bieńczyce and Klasztorna streets. Currently (since 2013) only one night line is in operation:

  • Line 642 (Rondo Kocmyrzowskie im. Ks. Gorzelanego - Aleja Przyjaźni)
