course

The longest source arm of the Bachtobelgraben rises at about 529  m above sea level. M. in the Honeretsrain on the eastern slope of the Honeret hill. It flows to the east and immediately passes under a nameless forest road which branches off a little further north from Allmendlistrasse . After a short run to the southeast in the direction of the edge of the forest and Reppischtal , it turns to the northeast and reaches Allmendlistrasse , where immediately after crossing it at 515  m above sea level. The Bachtobelgraben crosses the forest area first in a northeastern direction, then in a northwestern direction, receiving four unnamed tributaries. After the confluence of the last tributary, it turns again to the northeast in the direction of the Urdorfer Senke. The brook crosses under the Roman grave road , where there is a small forest hut, and from the left takes its longest tributary in the Honeret. From here it forms a small ravine and at the same time overcomes several wooden structures. After around 110 meters, it crosses under the base road and reaches the Rain corridor , where it directly overcomes three concrete barriers.

After a bed load barrier, the stream now reaches the edge of the forest, where there is another bed load barrier before crossing under a field road. It now flows through the fields at Flur Rain on a north-easterly course, slightly deepened and accompanied by a forest edge , before briefly following the western bypass Zurich and finally crossing under it.

The stream reappears in a small wood and is now also called Riedmattenbach. After a short stream to the north, it is overtaken . First running under the edge of the wood, it is only a little later directed to the east and crosses under the fields of the Riedmatten corridor . After a dirt road, it runs into the Zwüschenbächen corridor , where it is also directed to the northwest. The brook crosses under the family gardens at Zwygarten and takes on the Moosacherbach (also Stampfelbach ), which is also overturned, from the left .

The stream is now called Bachtobelgraben again and immediately reaches the Vordere Rüti area . Shortly afterwards, after the Dorfstrasse near Husacher in Niederurdorf, the brook comes back to the surface after a 940 meter long run. After another 130 meters, the Bachtobelgraben finally flows out at 402  m above sea level. M. from the left and southwest into the lower reaches of the Schäflibach.
