The Honeret ( 581 m above sea level ) is a wooded hill on the municipal boundary of Dietikon and Urdorf in the canton of Zurich and the highest elevation of the Honeret hill range and forest area of the same name . It rises above the Reppisch Valley and falls steeply into it on its southern slope at Foren . The valley also separates the hill from the somewhat higher Hohbüel ( 587 m above sea level ), which is the highest point in Urdorf.
The hill is not yet labeled on older maps. The steep southern slope was known as Forren , from 1913 then In der Forchen and from 1955 as Foren . This name is derived from pine .
Geologically, the Honeret belongs to the Upper Freshwater Molasse and consists of clay , silt and sand .
