The housing estate was built on the north-western edge of the growing industrial city of Katowice in place of the Sossnina and Bedersdorf settlements and south of the green areas of the new Silesian Culture and Recreation Park . It extends over an area of 2 km², on a winding road network between ul. Chorzowska in the north (arterial road to Chorzów ) and the DTŚ expressway in the south. The Rawabach flows through the settlement .

The Tysiąclecia settlement has many high-rise apartment buildings, five schools, an indoor swimming pool and two Roman Catholic churches.
