Oskar Schiele
Oskar Schiele (born April 14, 1889 in Halberstadt , † July 1, 1950 in Magdeburg ) was a German swimmer .
In his swimming positions, freestyle and back , he took part in the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens and the 1912 Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm .
In 1906 he won a silver medal with the German 4 × 250 meter relay . He finished seventh in the one-mile freestyle competition. Six years later in Stockholm he was eliminated from both the 400 meter freestyle and the 100 meter back run. He was also a member of the 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay, which took fourth place.
He also won the English King's Prize five times between 1905 and 1913. This prestigious award in its day was held in open water over 150 yards chest and 440 yards freestyle. Schiele, who initially competed for the Halberstadt swimming club and later for the Magdeburg MSC from 1896 , also set national and international records.
