Oskar Schmal

Oskar Schmal (born January 15, 1904 in Brno , † June 26, 1976 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist.
Schmal studied in Prague, Berlin (with Emil Orlik ) and in Paris. Among his mostly small-format figurative works, the delicate silver pen drawings were particularly appreciated. Schmal was a member of the Vienna Secession . In 1964 he was awarded the City of Vienna Prize for Fine Arts . Schmal was given the professional title of Professor by the Federal President. He was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .
