Oskar Stracker

Oskar André Stracker (born June 30, 1885 in Vienna ; † March 24, 1973 there ) was an Austrian orthopedist .

Life

The merchant's son Oskar Stracke devoted himself to filed Matura a study of medicine at the University of Vienna , which he in 1910 with the acquisition of the academic degree of Dr. med. completed. After working as an assistant doctor at the Vienna Anatomical Institute, followed by participation in the First World War as a battalion chief doctor in Russia , he received his specialist orthopedic training at the Vienna Orthopedic Hospital under Hans Spitzy and was deputy director there until 1922.

After Oskar Stracke had completed his habilitation for orthopedic surgery in Vienna in 1921 , he was appointed director of the Kaiser Franz Joseph outpatient clinic and anniversary hospital, and in 1941 he was appointed professor . Stracke was a member of the German and International Orthopedic Society and the Society of Doctors in Vienna .
