Oskarshamn is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Kalmar län and the historic province of Småland . The main town of the municipality is Oskarshamn .

history

In 1967 the municipality of Oskarshamn was merged with the rural municipalities of Döderhult, Kristdala and Misterhult.

economy

A few large employers dominate the community. These include Scania and the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant , which produces around a tenth of Sweden's electricity.
