Osman Muftic

Osman Muftić (born March 8, 1934 in Sarajevo , † July 27, 2010 in Zagreb ) was a Yugoslav politician and Croatian diplomat .

Life

Muftić studied at the Faculty of Mechanical and Shipbuilding at the University of Zagreb , where he received his doctorate in 1972 . There he taught as a lecturer, from 1982 as a full professor.

From May 30, 1990 to July 31, 1991 he was Minister of Science, Technology and Information Technology of the Socialist Republic of Croatia in the governments of Stjepan Mesić , Josip Manolić and Franjo Gregurić , which were preparing Croatia's independence. His successor was Ante Čović .

From 1993 to 1996 he was Croatia's ambassador to Iran . He was a member of the board of the Islamic Association of Croatia.
