The Ossam ( Bulgarian Осъм , historical name: Asamus ) is a tributary of the Danube in northern Bulgaria . It is 314 km long and drains an area of 2,820 km².
The source is in the Trojan area - on the northern slope of Levski ( Левски ) peak in the Balkan Mountains ( Стара планина ) 1,821 m above sea level. d. M.
The river Ossam arises from the confluence of the Black Ossam (Черни Осъм) - which was established as the actual source river - and the White Ossam (Бели Осъм).
The Ossam flows into the Danube near the city of Nikopol .
