Ossenreyerstraße 5 (Stralsund)
The house with the postal address Ossenreyerstraße 5 is a listed building on Ossenreyerstraße in Stralsund , opposite the confluence with Badenstraße .
The two and a half story plastered building near the Stralsund town hall is essentially medieval ; originally it was a gabled house built in 1414 for the Gewandschneider-Compagnie. The courtyard gable with panel structure was retained. The front to Ossenreyerstraße was fundamentally changed in the years 1870/1880: the gable was removed, the gable roof was hipped and a facade with stucco in the neo-baroque style was created. In 1968 these stucco work was removed with the exception of a small remnant above the portal , the facade with the protruding central projection appears simple. The windows are provided with arches .
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 619.
