The East Asian Riesenysop ( Agastache rugosa ) also known as Korea Mint is known, a plant belonging to the family of the mint (Lamiaceae).

features

The East Asian giant sysop is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 80 to 150 centimeters. The underside of the leaf is either bald and hairs are only present on the nerves or it is covered with upright or curved, not tightly fitting, light or dark green, but never white hairs. The base of the leaf blade is usually heart-shaped and sometimes rounded. The petiole is 1 to 5 inches long. The bracts are lanceolate.

The flowering period extends from June to September.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

The East Asian giant sysop occurs in river valleys in East Asia. Its distribution area extends from the Far Eastern Asian Russia to China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. In other Asian countries it is a neophyte.

use

The species is widely used as an ornamental plant for perennial beds, borders and as a cut flower. In East Asia and North America it is used as a medicinal, aromatic and aromatic plant.
