Ostinato is a jazz album that was recorded and released in 1985. It is the debut album of the Paolo Fresu Quintet.

The album is based on the modal jazz approach of Miles Davis . The title track Ostinato is structured around a series of constantly evolving themes that repeat every eight or twelve bars, interrupted by solos. Over time, the melody subtly shifts to Round About Midnight .
