Otakar Lebeda
Otakar Lebeda (born May 8, 1877 in Prague ; † April 12, 1901 there ) was a Czech painter and student of Julius Mařák .
Otakar Lebeda was born in the Prague Castle Town . He was a typical representative of Mařák's school. His paintings were influenced by the currents of realism and the influence of the Czech painter Antonín Chittussi and the French painter Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot . In 1898 Lebeda visited Paris and Barbizon . He painted his pictures from this time under the increased impression of impressionism . Although his pictures are considered perfect, he did not manage to combine and develop his numerous ideas and possibilities with one another. His best works are landscapes. His pictures are exhibited in Prague's Rudolfinum , one of his works was donated to the city of Paris.
Lebeda shot himself on April 12, 1901 in the Malá Chuchle district of Prague.
