Otmar Hesse

Otmar Hesse (* 19th January 1940 in the castle ) is a German Protestant theologian and SPD - local politicians .

Life

The son of the teacher Otto Hesse and Lieselotte Krakow passed his Abitur in 1960 in Braunschweig . From 1960 to 1966 he studied Protestant theology and oriental studies at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen , where he was a research assistant with Joachim Jeremias from 1963 to 1965 . 1966/67 he completed his vicariate in the Martinsgemeinde in Göttingen-Geismar, then he was pastor in Bischhausen and Weißenborn .

In 1971 Hesse became the state youth pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church in Braunschweig . In 1973 he received his doctorate in Göttingen on Markos Eremites and Symeon of Mesopotamia: Investigations and comparison of their teachings on baptism and asceticism . In 1976 he finally came as director of the Ev. Rural Youth Academy Altenkirchen in the Westerwald . In 1987 he was elected provost in Goslar and held this office from March 1988 until his retirement in March 2000. From 1996 to 2000 he was honorary mayor and from 2000 to 2006 he was full-time mayor of the city of Goslar.
