Bischhausen is a district of the municipality of Gleichen in the district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony with 371 inhabitants (as of May 4, 2015).

Geographical location

Bischhausen is located about 13 kilometers southeast of Göttingen, directly on the former inner-German border and today's Lower Saxony- Thuringia border. The location is on the red sandstone plateau of the Eichsfeld hill country . The Bischhäuser Bach , a tributary of the garden, has its source in the locality .

Neighboring towns are the districts of Bremke in the west, Kerstlingerode in the northeast, Weißenborn in the east and the Eichsfeld town of Bischhagen in the south , which also belong to the municipality of Gleichen . To the north is the Sennickerode estate and to the south is a small wind farm.

history

In the course of the municipal area reform, Bischhausen became a district of the newly formed municipality Gleichen on January 1, 1973.
