Kerstlingerode is a district of the municipality of Gleichen in the district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony with 201 inhabitants, 194 of whom have their main residence in the village (as of January 1, 2020).

Kerstlingerode is located approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Göttingen in the Upper Garden Valley . The Garte , a 23 km long tributary of the Leine, flows through Kerstlingerode . Immediate neighboring towns are Rittmarshausen in the northwest and Beienrode in the southeast. In terms of traffic, the place is connected via the state roads L 559 to Göttingen and Duderstadt and the L 567 to Bischhausen .

As part of the municipal reform, Kerstlingerode became a district of the newly formed municipality Gleichen on January 1, 1973.

	Reasons for the coat of arms: The coat of arms designed by Heinz Reise was approved by the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior on May 23, 1956. It refers to the coat of arms of the lords of Kerstlingerode, whose male line already died out in 1642.
