Ottilie Gerhäuser-Saint-Georges

Ottilie Gerhäuser-Saint-Georges (born January 10, 1871 in Wiesbaden ; † February 26, 1955 there ) was a German actress.

Saint-Georges was born as the daughter of a Prussian rent master . She learned her acting skills with Max Martersteig at the theater in Mannheim .

In her first role, Saint-Georges was seen at the theater in Heidelberg . Later engagements took her to Gera and Chemnitz . In 1894 she became a member of the ensemble at the Hoftheater Karlsruhe and in 1901 she went to the Neue Schauspielhaus in Munich .

Gerhäuser-Saint-Georges celebrated the greatest successes of her career at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden , whose ensemble she belonged continuously from 1925 to 1943. For her acting performance she was awarded the title of state actress there .

Gerhäuser-Saint-Georges was married to the tenor Emil Gerhäuser .
