The Otto Hahn Gymnasium Herne (OHG for short) is a gymnasium in Herne , North Rhine-Westphalia named after the chemist and Nobel Prize winner Otto Hahn .
history
The Otto Hahn Gymnasium was founded around 1966 as an independent gymnasium from a spin-off of the mathematical and scientific branch of the Pestalozzi Gymnasium in Herne. The need for a new building on Hölkeskampring arose because of the urgent need for renovation of the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium building on Neustraße in Herne. So they moved into the new building. After the renovation was completed, the modern language branch returned to Neustraße and a new name had to be found for the mathematical and natural science high school that remained on Hölkeskampring: Otto Hahn.
