Otto Angermann

Otto Angermann (born July 30, 1875 in Dresden ; † June 7, 1938 there ) was a German fencer. With the Dresden Fecht Club he won the first German team championship in 1921 with the foil .

Angermann joined the Dresden fencing club in 1908 and quickly became one of its most successful fencers. In 1921 he was able to win the first German foil championship together with Adam and Richter. Even at the German individual championships between 1913 and 1923, he made it through to the finals several times with foil and saber . In 1913 he won the Hamburg fencing tournament with both a sword and a saber. Until at least 1923 he took part in numerous other national and international tournaments.

Angermann also worked as a referee, including at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. After elementary school he attended the Fletcher teachers' seminar until 1896 and worked professionally as a teacher. He died shortly after his retirement on June 7, 1938 at the age of 62 in Dresden.
