Otto Bartsch (biologist)

Otto Bartsch (born February 10, 1881 in Konitz ; † April 23, 1945 ) was a German geneticist, poultry scientist and publicist.

Life

He was an honorary lecturer at the Agricultural University in Berlin and was appointed honorary professor there in January 1935. He dealt with breeding societies and heredity for poultry farmers. He undertook practical experiments in the forester's house in Schönwalde near Berlin , Niederbarnim district, where he lived .

As editor he had published the Archiv für Geflügelkunde in Berlin since 1926 , which saw itself as a monthly magazine to promote cooperation between science and practice.

He is buried in the Protestant cemetery in Schönwalde.
