Otto Carlsson (judge)

Otto Carlsson (born May 3, 1919 in Bremen ; † March 10, 2005 there ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

biography

Carlsson was the son and grandson of merchants of the same name in Bremen. The father ran a commission and agency business on Ansgaritorstrasse. Carlsson attended schools in Bremen. In World War II he served as a soldier. He then studied law and received his doctorate Dr. jur. As a lawyer he was a trainee lawyer, assessor, and since 1954 a judge and local court advisor in Bremen.

He became known for his voluntary work. He was active in the Association for Lower Saxony Ethnicity and for some time also chaired the association. He also acted as Vice President of Europa Nostra Germany , a European association of non-governmental monument protection organizations, and was active in the German Armed Forces Association.

Politically, he was a member of the CDU. He was a member of the local advisory board for the Bremen- Borgfeld district and was its chairman until 2003.

He has lived in Borgfeld-Katrepel since the 1980s .
