Otto Coester (born June 29, 1833 in Soest ; † February 6, 1898 ibid) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

The son of a farmer , studied Coester after visiting the Archi school law in Halle , Heidelberg and Berlin . During his studies in Halle in 1852 he became a member of the fraternity of the plowmen . After his exams he became an auscultator in Soest, where he was mayor from 1858 to 1894 . In 1894 he became an honorary citizen of his hometown. A memorial was erected in his honor at the Osthofen cemetery.
