Otto Deppmeyer (born May 22, 1947 in Hemeringen , Hameln-Pyrmont district ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2008 to 2017 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Deppmeyer left school with secondary school leaving certificate and then completed an agricultural apprenticeship . He attended technical college and graduated as a master of agriculture. Since 1970 he has been working as a self-employed agricultural master. In addition, he has been active in various voluntary functions in the agricultural sector since 1969. During this time he was a member of an advisory committee at the EU Commission in Brussels . Deppmeyer is married and has two children.

Otto Deppmeyer joined the CDU in 1970 . From 2010 to 2014 he was chairman of the CDU district association Hameln-Pyrmont.

Deppmeyer became a member of the local council of Hemeringen- Lachem in 1976 , and in 1983 he was elected local mayor there. He has been councilor of the city of Hessisch Oldendorf since 1986 and was mayor of this city from 2004 to 2006 . He has been a member of the district council in the Hameln-Pyrmont district since 1986 and has been chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group there since 2001. In the state elections in 2008 and 2013 , he entered the Lower Saxony state parliament through a direct mandate in the constituency 38 Hameln / Rinteln . Deppmeyer did not run again in the election for the 18th Lower Saxony state parliament .
