Otto Gumrum

Otto Gumrum (born September 26, 1895 in Munich , † October 3, 1966 in Bad Aibling ) was a German politician ( BP , CSU , FVP , DP ).

Life and work

After graduating from primary school, Gumrum completed an apprenticeship as a motor vehicle technician. He then attended the Polytechnic and continued his education in the field of combustion engines. He entered the public service in 1914 and worked for a long time in the technical police service. After he had passed the examination for the middle technical service in 1925, he worked as a motor vehicle expert. Gumrum took part in both world wars and returned in 1945 severely disabled. He then worked as a municipal building officer in Munich.

Political party

Before 1933, Gumrum was a member of the BVP . He joined the Bavarian Party in 1947 and switched to the CSU in the 1950s . In October 1956 he joined the FVP and through the merger in early 1957 came to the DP , for which he ran unsuccessfully in the 1957 federal election.

MP

Gumrum had been a councilor for the city ​​of Munich since 1948 . In the Bundestag election in 1953 , he was elected to the German Bundestag as a member of the BP on the CSU's nomination , to which he belonged until 1957. On October 26, 1956, together with Benno Graf, he joined the FVP parliamentary group, which was absorbed into the DP in March 1957. In parliament he represented the constituency of Munich-North .
