Otto Hermann Ottens

Otto Hermann Ottens (born September 21, 1825 , † June 3, 1895 in Eimsbüttel ) was a German farmer and parliamentarian.

Life

Ottens studied from 1846 to 1848 at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1846 he became a member of the Corps Holsatia . In 1847 he joined the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . As a lieutenant in the cavalry , he took part in the Schleswig-Holstein uprising against Denmark. Then, from 1851, he was a farmer in Hennstedt (Dithmarschen) and Wesselburen , district of Norderdithmarschen . From 1889 he lived as a privateer in Eimsbüttel near Hamburg .

From 1860 to 1866, Ottens was a member of the Holstein Estates Assembly as a state deputy for the smaller landowners . From 1870 until his death in 1895 he was a member of the constituency of Schleswig-Holstein 12 (Norderdithmarschen) in the Prussian House of Representatives , where he belonged to the National Liberal Party .
