successes

Otto Hultberg took part in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris in two disciplines on the running deer. In the individual competition, he just missed winning a medal in a single shot in fourth place. Like Cyril Mackworth-Praed and Otto Olsen, he had scored 39 points, but lost to both of them in the jump-off, so that the silver medal went to Mackworth-Praed and the bronze medal to Olsen. The team competition in the individual shot was more successful, in which he secured the silver medal behind Norway and in front of the United States with Mauritz Johansson , Fredric Landelius and Alfred Swahn . Hultberg was the team's third-best shooter with 38 points.

Five years later, Hultberg was twice world champion at the World Championships in Stockholm. In the single shot, he remained victorious in both the individual and team competition. He was also runner-up with the team in the double shot.
