Otto Janczik

Otto Janczik (* 1899 ) was an Austrian national soccer player .

Career

The goalkeeper Otto Janczik began his career at Gersthofer SV and played for the first time in 1918/19 for Wiener AF in the Austrian first class . Soon he became a regular player in the goal of the Weinroten, his greatest success was with the victory in the Austrian Cup in 1922 with 2-1. After Otto Janczik had to accept relegation with the WAF in 1924, however, he moved to the second Hütteldorfer first division club, Rapid . He played here for two years and during this time he also made two appearances in the Austrian national team . It should be mentioned that Otto Janczik should have played in the national team during the WAF times, but canceled out of nervousness.

The goalkeeper was harmless in both international matches, Austria won 2-0 against both Switzerland and Czechoslovakia . In 1926 Otto Janczik moved to Döbling for Vienna , where he finally ended his career in the I. League. The goalkeeper did not hang up his football boots, however, but tried his hand at the provincial club Kremser SC , with whom he became Austrian amateur champion in 1930 , after winning the final over the FA Turnerbund Lustenau . He ended his career at SC Mautern .
