Otto Knoop

Otto Knoop (born April 20, 1853 in Karzin , Stolp district , † November 8, 1931 in Stargard in Pomerania ) was a German teacher and folklorist.

Life

After attending grammar school in Stargard, he mainly studied ancient languages, German and history in Greifswald . From 1872 he was a teacher at various high schools in the province of Posen , most recently in Rogasen in Obornik district. After the end of World War I , he was retired and went back to Stargard.

Together with Alfred Haas , Knoop published the magazine "Blätter für Pommersche Volkskunde, monthly for sagas and fairy tales, custom and custom, swank and prank, song, riddle and language in Pomerania" from 1893 to 1902.

Knoop had the title of professor.
