Otto Linke

Otto Linke (born June 23, 1846 in Breslau , Province of Silesia ; † March 26, 1930 ibid) was a German teacher and historian .

Life

Linke grew up in Breslau. He interrupted school in 1866 as a war volunteer. When he returned, he continued attending school and graduated from high school at Michaelis in 1868. He then studied history, geography and German at the University of Wroclaw . In 1869 he became a member of the Corps Silesia Breslau . Like his school days, he also interrupted his studies and served in the 62nd Infantry Regiment during the war of 1870/71 . After graduating, he received his doctorate in April 1873. phil. Immediately afterwards he became a teacher, then a senior teacher and finally a professor at the Realgymnasium am Zwinger in Breslau. He stayed at this school until his retirement in 1916. Linke became known because, in addition to his work as a teacher, he published numerous books and essays on topics from Silesian history as well as a travel guide about Wroclaw.
