Otto Pfeiffenberger
Otto Ernst Pfeiffenberger (born July 3, 1878 in Mannheim ; † April 10, 1950 in New York ) was a German author , lawyer and founding member of the Council for a Democratic Germany in New York.
Pfeiffenberger was a lawyer based in Mannheim and politically involved in the SPD . After the “ Reichskristallnacht ” in November 1938, he fled to New York with his wife and son of Jewish descent from the threat of Nazi persecution , also due to his legal work for Jews and other unpopular people . There he worked at Columbia University and Saint Francis College. His property was confiscated while in Germany and his PhD on 11 February 1942 revoked .
