Otto Philipp Virdung von Hartung

Otto Philipp Virdung von Hartung (born July 8, 1696 in Würzburg , † 1758 in Eichstätt ) was a German physician and general practitioner in Bamberg .

Life

Otto Philipp Virdung von Hartung studied medicine with Lorenz Heister at the University of Altdorf and then worked as a general practitioner in Bamberg. In later years he moved to Eichstätt.

On August 11, 1734 Otto Philipp Virdung von Hartung was given the academic surname Melissus II. Under the matriculation number. 443 accepted as a member of the Leopoldina .

Literary works ascribed to Otto Philipp Virdung von Hartung are based on a confusion with Michael Erich Franck , who published under the pseudonym Melisso or Melissus .
