Tobias Bayer (born November 17, 1999 in Ried im Innkreis ) is an Austrian cyclist who is active on the road and in cyclo-cross races.

Athletic career

Bayer started the season in 2017 by winning the Austrian junior cyclo-cross championship. Then he knew how to convince in international stage races as well as with his victory in the national junior individual time trial championship. He came into the squad for the European Road Championships in Herning , where he finished 18th in the junior time trial and seventh in the road race. Finally he was selected for the World Championships in Bergen , where he competed in the individual time trial (27th place) and road races (77th place) in the junior class. At the end of the season he finished tenth in the junior category at the Chrono des Nations .

In 2018, Bayer was signed by the Tirol Cycling Team for adults . With this UCI Continental Team he started the World Championships in Innsbruck in the team time trial and finished 17th, which meant Bayer achieved the first points in the UCI world rankings .
