Otto Rademacher

Otto Rademacher (born March 13, 1847 in Calbe / Saale , † February 10, 1918 in Merseburg ) was a German high school teacher and historian who made a great contribution to the local history of Merseburg.

Life

Otto Rademacher studied classical philology at the University of Halle from 1866 . In 1873 he received his doctorate in philology. After passing the probationary year he started teaching at the cathedral grammar school in Merseburg from 1874 and later received the title of professor.

Otto Rademacher was married to Maria Simon. One son was the lawyer and member of the Reichstag, Walther Rademacher (1879–1952).

In 2017 the Merseburg Old Town Association placed a memorial stone for him in the St. Maximi cemetery .
