Otto Schmidt (politician, 1892)
Otto Schmidt (born July 28, 1892 in Amstetten , Lower Austria ; † May 12, 1960 in Graz , Styria ) was an Austrian teacher and briefly a politician ( SPÖ ).
Life
Otto Schmidt attended elementary and community school and finally a teacher training institute . At first he earned his living as a teacher in Graz, later became a senior teacher and finally a district school inspector .
He held his first political mandate from 1924 to 1934, when he held a mandate for the socialist party in the Graz municipal council . In 1934 he had to serve several months of political imprisonment; in 1938 he was taken into protective custody.
In December 1945 Schmidt was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna , which he then belonged to until November 1949.
