Otto Schwarz (politician, 1891)
Otto Schwarz (born November 17, 1891 in Hilchenbach , † March 31, 1964 in Weidenau ) was a German social democratic local politician, district administrator of the Siegen district and mayor of the city of Siegen .
Life and politics
Otto Schwarz came from Eichen-Stendenbach . Before 1933, Schwarz was editor and managing director of the social democratic people’s newspaper, which appeared until the Nazis came to power. During the Nazi period he worked as an accountant at the Siegerland ironworks .
From 1926 to 1932, Schwarz was a member of the Westphalia Parliament for the constituency of Siegen Land, Stadt and Wittgenstein .
Otto Schwarz was appointed by the British occupation authorities on June 1, 1945 as the successor to Fritz Fries, who had been appointed as District President in Arnsberg, at the same time in the office of District Administrator of the Siegen District and the Office of Lord Mayor of the City of Siegen. February 1946, until his successor Ernst Weißelberg was appointed Lord Mayor of Siegen by the occupation authorities.
During his time as mayor in Siegen, Schwarz was assigned to Albert Schnier as head of the city administration and mayor of the occupation authority. From 1946 to 1948 Schwarz was mayor of Eichen and Stendenbach, from 1956 to 1962 mayor of the Ferndorf office and also chairman of the district council.
Otto Schwarz died on March 31, 1964 of serious injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
