Otto Staininger

Otto Staininger (born August 27, 1934 in Český Krumlov ) is an Austrian visual artist and writer.

Life

Otto Staininger attended the Humanist High School in Linz from 1945 to 1953 . He studied zoology at the University of Vienna and switched to the fine arts. He studied graphics at the art school in Linz and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . During his studies he was a tutor and translator into modern Greek, Italian and English. From 1963 to 1975 he was an editor at Forum Verlag and then Federal Education Secretary in the central secretariat of the SPÖ . From 1963 to 1974 he was artistic director of the Galerie der Junge Generation . From 1975 to 1979 he was managing director of the Wiener Volksbildungswerk . From 1979 to 1984 (?) He was director of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .

Otto Staininger has been a freelance artist and exhibition organizer since 1985. In 1996 he founded Pro-Ergon-Verlag with Ing.Helmut Schmidt, later named Buchverlag with Profildruck.

Otto Staininger is married with two children and lives in Retz .
