Otto Weltzien (Author)

Otto Joachim Johann Friedrich Weltzien (born November 18, 1873 in Darze , † November 28, 1944 in Lüneburg ) was a German and Low German author, editor and publisher.

Life

Otto Weltzien was the son of the small farmer Wilhelm Heinrich Friedrich Weltzien and his wife Marie Henriette, born. Dolge.

Weltzien attended the village school and initially also became a farmer. In 1899 he became an editor at the North German Post in Parchim and then moved on to Eisenach , Rostock , Minden and other cities. In addition to his own work, he also published works by Fritz Reuter and John Brinckman .

The Otto-Weltzien Street in Schwerin Görries was not for him, but by the same name Schwerin mayor and honorary citizen Otto Weltzien named (1859-1942).
