Otto Zwygart senior

Otto Zwygart senior (born May 30, 1911 in Busswil near Büren , Canton Bern , † April 5, 1986 in Köniz ) was a Swiss politician ( EPP ).

Otto Zwygart grew up as the son of a farmer. In 1931 he finished the teacher training college Muristalden in Bern . Until 1975 he worked as a teacher in various places, mostly in the municipality of Köniz. From 1958 was a member of the large municipal council of Köniz. From 1971 to 1983 he was a member of the National Council for the Bernese EPP . He was also involved in the Evangelical Society of the Canton of Bern. Under the pseudonym Jakob Bohnenblust , he gave tips on gardening for 20 years on the radio show Mys Gärtli .

His son Otto Zwygart junior was also a politician and national councilor (1983-2000).
