Otto von Vacano

Otto von Vacano (born April 2, 1827 in Simmern , † November 16, 1897 in Colmar ) was a German lawyer and President of the Colmar Higher Regional Court in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine .

Life

Otto von Vacano attended grammar school in Koblenz and studied law and camera science in Bonn and Heidelberg . In Bonn he was a member of the Corps Rhenania and took part in September 1848 as a delegate for the Bonn student body at the 2nd general student assembly in Eisenach. In 1859 he became an assessor in Trier . After the establishment of the German Empire and the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine , he became the first general advocate in Colmar in 1872, in 1876 as president of the senate and in 1889 as president of the higher regional court. In 1894 he received the title of Real Secret Higher Justice Council ( Privy Councilor ).

In addition to his job, he also worked as a writer on topics from his Hunsrück homeland.

His son Franz von Vacano (1876-1947) was also judge and president of the Bochum regional court .
