Ottomar Rohde

Friedrich Ludwig Ottomar Rohde (born November 12, 1815 in Bützow , † December 30, 1881 in Greifswald ) was a German agricultural scientist and non-fiction author.

Life

Ottomar Rohde was born as the son of the former farmer and tenant Ludewig Hellmuth Burchard Rohde and his wife Sophia Dorothea, nee. Too bad born. He studied at the Eldena Agricultural Academy . From 1842 he was estate manager in Gramenz and from 1846 general secretary of the Baltic Central Agricultural Association . After completing his doctorate and habilitation , he worked as a university lecturer at the Agricultural Academy Eldena from 1850 and at the same time was administrator of the associated sample property. Together with Ferdinand Jühlke and (NN) Trommer, Rohde managed the “Eldena Archive” .

He was married to Bertha, geb. Snappy. One son of the couple was the later Reich judge Max Ludwig Rohde , another the later director of the Agricultural Academy Eldena William Rohde (1847-1903). The daughter Emma (1859–1934) became a pianist and was the wife of the historian Max Lenz .

The church registry in Bützow is November 12, 1815 as the date of his birth and November 15, 1815 as the date of his baptism (church book of the Bützow monastery church, baptism entry No. 166/1815).
