The OFC Women's Nations Cup 1998 ( Engl. : OFC Women's Nations Cup ) was the sixth playout of an oceanic continental championship in women's football and found in the period from 9 to 17 October 1998 in Auckland for the second time in New Zealand instead. In addition to hosts New Zealand , with Australia , Fiji and Papua New Guinea as well as the two debutants American Samoa and Samoa , six teams took part in the tournament for the first time, which also qualifies the Oceania zonefor the 1999 Women's World Cup. The game was played in two groups of three teams each. The group winners and runners-up reached the final round. There was not only a record number of participants, but also a record with an impressive 112 goals in a total of 10 games.
Australia was Oceania champion in women's football for the second time and qualified as a representative of Oceania for the 1999 Women's World Cup in the USA.
