Pediatric crime
Pediatric crime is a collective term for various forms of sexual violence against children . The term was coined in the 1980s. Its use is controversial, however, in various documents of the will UNHCHR , WHO and UNICEF the word Pädokriminalität '(fr. Pédocriminalité , Eng. Pedocriminality ) summary for the topic around sexual child abuse , child trafficking , child prostitution and child pornography used. The aspect of trafficking in the sexual abuse of children or the products made from them is partly the focus.
Controversy over the term
Child protection advocates argue that the psychiatric term ' pedophilia ' is inappropriate because it includes the word ' -philia ' (such as: love for; affection for). Sex offenders who assault children would often hide behind this medical term, although in many cases the medical indication is not given. In the eyes of the proponents of the term, 'pedo-crime' is the only suitable term because, unlike the other terms, it uniquely describes the situation as a whole and not just legal or medical aspects of the problem of child sexual abuse.
