Pömperli's fight with the snowshoe is a German ski and winter sports comedy produced by Arnold Fanck in 1922 . Under the direction of Holger-Madsen play Henry Bender and Josefine Dora the leading roles.
action
Pömperli's fight with the snowshoe is considered a comedic, feather-light finger exercise by Arnold Fanck, who had the idea for this winter sports game, but left the direction and the script to his Danish colleague Holger-Madsen. As with all of Fanck's silent films, this story, which relies entirely on the gripping images of nature in white, is set in the Alpine region.
About the story: A critic of the feature pages of a small local newspaper in the German provinces, who on the one hand is an enthusiastic amateur athlete, on the other hand rejects cinematography, is encouraged to offer ski courses for young winter athletes by viewing a film about skiing in the winter high mountains. His first customers are the members of a family of manufacturers who, however, are soon bored with all the theory and as a result want to learn to ski on their own. Of course, all of this is easier said than done, and as a result of this arbitrary involvement there comes up all (sporty and amorous) entanglements, which end with the engagement of the manufacturer's eldest daughter to her ski instructor.
Production notes
Pömperli's Battle with the Snowshoe , occasionally also called Pömperly's Battle with the Snowshoe , one of the best-known Fanck films, was made in the Alps in 1922, was 1,697 meters long, spread over a prelude and four acts. The film passed the censorship on January 10, 1923 and was probably premiered a little later.
Friedrich Winkler-Tannenberg designed the few film structures.
criticism
Paimann's film lists summed up: “First and foremost, the very beautiful winter sports pictures are striking, in which quite amusing game scenes are woven. The representation, as far as such is possible, is very good, as is the photographic execution. A very good feature film. "
