Pössl Freizeit und Sport , based in Mitterfelden near Ainring ( Bavaria ), is a provider of box vans converted into mobile homes .
history
Pössl Freizeit und Sport GmbH was founded in 1989 by Peter Pössl. At the same time, he established the category of camper vans . Starting in 1996, Pössl had its competitor Adria in Slovenia built to order camper vans based on the Peugeot Boxer at low labor costs. In addition, a peculiarity in European customs law at the time, the duty-free processing traffic, which allowed vehicles to be exported and imported free of charge, enabled Pössl mobile homes to be offered at a price that corresponded to the price of the base vehicle. In 2002 Peter Pössl sold his company to the Glück Group. Since 2004, Pössl Freizeit und Sport GmbH has had the expansion carried out by its competitors Dethleffs in Isny and Capron in Neustadt in Saxony - both subsidiaries of Hymer AG. The expansion is optionally based on the Fiat Ducato or the structurally identical Citroën Jumper . In 2005 Pössl founded the Globecar brand, in 2012 the subsidiary Clever Mobile GmbH based in Graefelfing was founded and in 2016 the latest brand, Roadcar, followed.
paragraph
In the 2014 financial year, Pössl sold more than 3,600 vehicles, around a third of them under the “Globecar” brand.
Models
In addition to different body lengths, the models are divided into the so-called D-Line and the so-called H-Line. While the D-Line models are extended series box vans, the H-Line models partly have a larger ceiling height thanks to an attached GRP roof.
